Attorney Joana Stathi focuses on handling complex divorces cases and criminal defense matters.  She has been involved in representing clients in the Massachusetts Probate & Family Courts, Superior & District Courts, and  Massachusetts Court of Appeals. Attorney Stathi has worked on several high-profile criminal cases, such as the James "Whitey" Bulger trial, as well as successful appeals. Prior to founding Stathi Law, LLC, she was a Partner at a family law firm, Atwood & Cherny, P.C.  Attorney Stathi has also worked and been trained by prominent criminal defense attorneys. 

Attorney Stathi keeps the client's best interest at the forefront of her practice while zealously advocating for clients and ensuring quality results. She relies on her extensive experience and training to reach the best results. 

Attorney Stathi has received a “Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star” in the area of family law from 2019-2024. Only 2.5% of attorneys are selected as Rising Stars to receive the award. Additionally, Attorney Stathi has been recognized  by Boston Magazine as a top attorney and has been awarded the Top 10 Attorney Award Under 40 by National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.

She is fluent in Albanian.
